The Allegan Conservation District is able to provide technical assistance, identification, and control of small populations of non-native terrestrial invasive species via the Invasive Species Strike Team. Cost share funding may be available to landowners for treating infestations of select unwanted terrestrial species through the Michigan Invasive Species Grant Program. Services will be funded by fees paid by participants and will include assessments, supplies, and control.
The Invasive Species Strike Team will be treating category “A” species covered by MISGP funding, which include:
- Black and pale swallow-wort
- Giant hogweed
- Giant and Japanese Knotweed
- Leafy spurge
- Poison hemlock
- Phragmites australis
The Invasive Species Strike Team can also treat other unwanted species not covered by grant funding for landowners at a rate of $90/hour (one hour minimum). Any services requiring more than one hour of treatment will be billed in half hour increments after the initial hour.
We encourage landowners to contact us to assist in identifying and controlling unwanted invasive species. If interested in having the Invasive Species Strike Team perform a FREE site, please fill out the form below and we will contact you.
