Concolor Fir

Scientific name: Abies concolor
Height: 40-70’
Width: 15-25’
Growth rate: slow
Habitat: Prefers moist, well-drained loam to clay soil and will tolerate shade. Tolerates dry sites and drought.

Concolor fir, also called white fir, is an important ornamental because of itsgraceful form and large sprays of bluish-gray foliage. Needles are flattened, thick, leathery, and tend to point upwards. Cones are only located near the top of the tree and are found on the upper sides of the branches, pointing upward rather than hanging down. Tree is used as an ornamental and for Christmas trees.
