*FOREST AND WILDLIFE MANAGMENT*
The Allegan Conservation District provides forest and wildlife management information, educational programs, technical assistance, and referrals to all residents, community groups, and government agencies within Allegan County. Due to lack of state funding, these services are now available on a limited basis for a fee. Fees will be assessed for site visits, public speaking requests and plan development. In office and phone consultations will remain free of charge. Contact the Allegan Conservation District for more information about current fees or to schedule a site visit. Forestry assistance is also available in Allegan County from private consulting foresters. See list in download section.

I have 18 black walnut trees that range from 18 to 22″ @ 4′ from base diameter that are tall with no low limbs. a couple have metal fence in them about 10′ from base but most are clear. How do I find what they are worth? I have had 2 separate loggers approach me on these 18 trees but I am not sure if they are offering me a fair amount.
Thank You,Rick
We suggest contacting a forester to discuss what your interests are. If you contact the MSU county extension office they can suggest a consultant forester that can steer you in the direction you need.
